We're Mom Water, a fast-growing Ready-to-Drink (RTD) vodka water brand and we're looking for a passionate, driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to join our exceptional sales team!
Position Overview
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving distribution, volume growth, brand activation, and account execution across a defined geographic market for Mom Water. This ASM territory will include NJ, CT, DE, and eastern PA. This role manages day-to-day distributor engagement, key account relationships (off and on premise), account-level execution, and the deployment of brand programming. The ASM will partner closely with distributor sales teams, local chain decision-makers, and internal cross-functional partners to ensure flawless execution and sustainable growth. The ideal candidate is a high-energy, entrepreneurial, relationship-driven leader with strong beverage alcohol experience and a passion for building brands in a competitive marketplace.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
1. Market Execution & Sales Strategy

- Execute regional business plans, programming, and priorities as defined by the RVP.
- Drive POD growth, new placements, display execution, and incremental volume across your territory.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and sales performance to surface insights and opportunities.
- Execute focus periods, incentive programs, and innovation launches (e.g., new SKU rollouts, variety packs).
2. Distributor Engagement & Management

- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for distributor sales reps, DMs, and local accounts.
- Conduct work-withs, team kickoffs, programming surveys, and trade development.
- Ensure distributor alignment on pricing, programming, priorities, and chain execution.
- Participate in distributor sales meetings, share category insights, retail standards and motivate teams.
- Track and ensure accountability on orders, inventory, depletions, and display execution.
3. Key Account Management (off and on premise)

- Build/maintain relationships with key off-premise retailers: chains, independent, c-stores, and grocery.
- Secure new placements, cold box opportunities, endcaps, and display locations with target accounts.
- Cultivate on-premise account relationships to drive visibility, sampling, menu placements, and trial.
- Ensure execution of chain authorizations, promotional calendars, and pricing alignment.
- Conduct and maintain records of regular schedule of no less than 25 account visits per week to maintain strong relationships and monitor execution standards, utilizing the VIP KARMA app.
4. Consumer-Facing Activations

- Execute local brand activations, tastings, and sampling events to drive trial and awareness.
- Partner with marketing to deploy new POS, branded materials, and promotional assets.
- Identify and execute high-impact local events (festivals, bar promotions, sports events, community events).
- Ensure compliance with state regulations for all consumer-facing activities.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with:

- RVP on strategy, reporting, and business planning.
- Chain Teams on local execution of national and regional chain programs.
- Marketing on POS, sampling programs, local brand partnerships, and programming tools.
- Operations on product flow, forecasting needs, and service-level issues.
- Communicate opportunities, risks, and competitive trends to leadership in real time.
6. Reporting & Analytics

- Track KPIs weekly: PODs, depletions, displays, orders, inventory health, event activity.
- Submit weekly recaps, photos, and execution reporting via VIP KARMA.
- Maintain up-to-date territory plans and goals.
- Use data tools (VIP, Nielsen/IRI, chain portals) to identify performance gaps and opportunities.
- Must be able to effectively manage and operate within defined budget parameters.
Qualifications

- Education: Preferably equipped with a bachelor’s or associate degree in business, or equivalent experience that fuels your passion.
- Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older, hold a valid driver’s license, have capability to lift cases of product, and a can-do attitude are necessary.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 3 Years of selling experience in the beverage alcohol or CPG industry preferred.
