VP of Marketing

About this Role
Mom Water is seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic VP of Marketing to serve as a key member of the leadership team and continue building the incredible community of Mom Water and Dad Water fans. This position will lead the Marketing
team and set vision, strategy and execution plans that drive brand awareness and ultimately, sales!

Reporting to the CEO, the VP Marketing will develop and execute the brand’s marketing strategy and all marketing initiatives including brand marketing, trade marketing, event activation, innovation, creative, packaging, social media, retention marketing and eCommerce.. This leader will be responsible for preserving and enhancing the brand’s equity while continuing to expand its consumer base. S/he will drive innovation efforts to contribute to the brand’s long-term growth, and will define the commercialization strategy for new product lines. This VP Marketing should be highly creative, innovative, analytical, data-driven, collaborative, and possess a customer-first mindset in an effort to create more affinity for the brands. The ideal candidate will have experience building and scaling an alcohol brand and bring a passion for creativity, incredible culture, and of course, Mom Water!

Leadership
● Lead and manage Marketing team through effective coaching, collaboration, open communication and project assignment. Evolve marketing organizational structure as needed to consistently support the emerging needs of the business.
● Serve on cross-functional Leadership Team and report on key Marketing initiatives
● Develop and champion the current marketing team by providing leadership and management to the organization. Foster a culture of ensuring all programming is legally compliant, and encourages responsible adult consumption. Do the right thing, always.
● Uses key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends to translate results into actionable insights for the marketing team.

Marketing / Brand Strategy & Vision
● Oversee the development and execution of Mom Water and Dad Water’s overall marketing strategy, including short term and long-term initiatives, driving new and existing customers to purchase our products
● Develop standards, systems and best practices for product packaging and content creation, distribution, and maintenance. Establish and maintain a consistent image throughout all product lines, events, promotional materials, and company meetings. Strengthen the brand through consistent brand positioning, creative, innovation, pricing, packaging, etc.
● Create disruptive 360-degree marketing programs through digital and social campaigns, influencer and PR, sampling and promotions, etc. in existing and new channels
● Provide guidance to all internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional partners, to ensure the brand, marketing, and creative efforts are consistent with the brands’ vision
● Creative direction & oversight of production both in-house and through third parties
● Oversight of social media content strategy & digital efforts
● Research market trends and create plans to keep Mom Water innovative and relevant
● Sets marketing goals and objectives.
● Determines KPIs for the marketing department, tracks them regularly, and presents reports.

Event & Activation Management
● With Event Manager, develop event standards and scale activation opportunities nationally
● Attends and/or participates at conventions, conferences, tradeshows, and other events, preparing engaging
displays and collateral as needed and providing post-event reports and analysis.
● Set an example through regular participation in key events

Trade Marketing
● Play a key role the Strategic Commercial Planning Process and contribute to the future of Mom Water and Dad Water
● Oversee the creation and deployment of retail display and POS materials to capture consumer attention
● Collaborate with the sales team and key retailers to create customized retail marketing campaigns to engage
customers, drive display increase sales conversion and consumer loyalty specific to each trade channel.
● Oversee the creation of wholesale and retail marketing sales collateral, presentations, sell sheets and trade show activations.
● Identify best opportunities to maximize rate of sale and consumer loyalty through the development of retail promotions and on-premise activation campaigns

Innovation
● In collaboration with the CEO and founders, evolve the innovation pipeline to deliver new product lines, flavors, form factors, etc.

Consumer Insights
● Conduct brand health analysis to continuously measure consumer awareness, perception, loyalty.
● Utilize 3rd party data providers to gain a deep understanding of the Mom Water consumer to make data driven decisions.
● Oversee the strategy and execution of consumer research to collect consumer feedback around areas of product innovation, promotional campaigns and packaging to inform the decision making process.

Budget Management
● Oversee and manage the total marketing budget, leveraging analytical rigor to prioritize and allocate resources and media effectively. Duties include: planning spend, tracking ROI, and reporting budgetary data to leadership and team members

Project & Vendor Management
● With Director of Marketing, ensure ownership and accountability for all marketing project timelines
● Utilize PM software to assign project owners and track completion
● Oversee management of external vendor and key agency partners to successful deliverables, adherence to
budget and project timeliness.

Who the Ideal Fit Is
The ideal candidate has significant experience with marketing in the alcohol industry and has helped grow and scale a successful brand (particularly in the RTD or beer space). You would bring creativity, leadership, passion, and a fun approach to team collaboration. You’ve got a great “eye” for our aesthetic and key knowledge of what it takes to keep our brand moving forward. Like Linda, you’d be CHARISMATIC + PLAYFUL + CREATIVE!

What Skills & Qualifications You Should Bring
● Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
● 10+ years experience in brand management and marketing leadership within CPG; beverage experience preferred.
● Classically trained CPG marketing experience plus a track record of success within fast-growth, entrepreneurial environments
● Can articulate and execute an exciting brand vision and strategy around a product within a competitive market with premium positioning that has deep customer affinity
● Has developed a best-in-class lifestyle brand with a strong retail presence; deeply understands customer marketing within the retail space and each unique channel (Grocery, Mass Merchandise, Club, Convenience Store, etc.)
● Can target multiple demographics through relevant, integrated marketing programs
● Strong agency relationships coupled with the ability to source new agencies via RFPs and provide creative direction accordingly
● Deep experience with customer insights and market research to inform marketing strategies
● Demonstrated experience developing a marketing team with the ability to attract, retain, and develop high-caliber talent
● Collaborative, open communication skills with the ability to inspire teamwork and successfully present to internal and external groups
● Strong project management skills and ability to manage projects within a schedule reliant on meetings and collaboration
● Possesses excellent quantitative and analytical skills to drive decision and KPI measurement
● Comfort with managing and tracking marketing spend for maximum ROI
